本书系中国艺术家麻汇源的陶瓷艺术作品集。2021年麻汇源获得了日本美浓陶艺大展的首奖“外务大臣奖”(2021, The 12th Japan Mino International Ceramic Triennial, First Prize/Foreign Minister award / Japan),这是美浓陶艺的最高奖项,也是中国陶瓷艺术家在日本美浓展览的最好成绩。本书收录的作品为“瓷”和“M瓷-M器”系列,分别对应作者在不同阶段的陶艺探索方向。系列作品以白色和灰色为整体基调,创作灵感源于作者早期学习制作器皿的经历,通过解构、重构器皿的新图式来寻找和表达作者的真实精神诉求。作品融入了国际化的创作语境,风格既多元又独立,显示出作者个人独特的陶艺新美学风格。

This book is a catalogue of porcelains by Chinese artist Ma Huiyuan, who was the winner of Foreign Minister Award of the 12th Japan Mino International Ceramic Triennial, which is the highest award of Mino Triennial, and the highest award that Chinese ceramic artists have ever won at Mino. This book contains a series of “Porcelains” and “M Porcelains-M Ware”, which represent the different stages of the artist’s exploration in ceramics. The overall tone of the series is white and gray, inspired by the artist’s early experience of learning how to make vessels. The deconstruction and reconstruction of the new patterns of vessels express the artist’s true spiritual aspirations. The works are created in an international context and in both diversified and independent styles, showing the unique new aesthetic style of ceramic creation.

 

2022年11月,受日本岐阜现代陶艺美术馆邀请,麻汇源陶瓷艺术作品展在该馆开幕。本书专为这次展览而设计。

In November 2022, at the invitation of the Museum of Modern Ceramics in Gifu, Japan, Chinese artist Ma Huiyuan’s Porcelain Exhibition opened. This book was designed for this exhibition.

 

设计灵感源于艺术家《瓷系列》作品的展示效果,并与之呼应。书籍封面空无一字,以凸显洁白光亮的厚纸板模切成方形瓷砖的效果,犹如瓷片的质感。方形的格子也形成了整本书图文编排的网格系统。

The book design is inspired by and echoes the artist’s series of “Porcelain”. Its empty cover accentuates the square ceramic tile effect made by molding the white, glossy and thick cardboard. The square tiles also form a grid system for the layout of the text and illustrations throughout the book.

 

内页光面书纸和糙面书纸混搭使用,针对不同的内容选用不同的材质,以更加贴合书籍内容,达到设计与内容结合的最佳呈现。其中灰色系列作品选用深灰色纸张作为间隔页,全部以拉页方式展现,增强了阅读的层次感与氛围的营造。整本书除艺术家作品为彩色外,黑白灰形成了全书素朴、拙雅的基调。

The inner pages are a mix of glossy and rough paper. Different papers are chosen for different contents, which presents the design and content in the best way. In the “Gray Series”, dark gray paper is used as spacer pages, and porcelains are all presented on a pull-out page, which creates an immersive atmosphere for reading. In addition to the colorful proclaims, the colors of black, white and grey set a simplistic and elegant tone of the book.
